The genesis
Professor Bodin used to take over 200 medical photos every week and classify them manually. A time-consuming task he dreamed of automating.
In 2018, he entered a health innovation competition with the idea of creating an app to manage medical photography. There, he met entrepreneur Matis Ringdal and engineer Vincent Marcedu. Together, they built the first Pixacare prototype, which went on to win several awards.
Since then, Pixacare has seen remarkable growth. In 2021, the company raised €2 million, obtained the CE mark for medical devices, and earned ISO 13485 certification for its quality management system. In 2024, Pixacare accelerated further with a €3 million fundraising round to scale its technology and expand internationally.
The app quickly gained traction across France, trusted by leading university hospitals, general hospitals, and comprehensive cancer centers.
Today, Pixacare is based in Strasbourg, at the heart of Nextmed, Europe's health innovation campus. With a team of around 20, blending technological and medical expertise, Pixacare is transforming how medical documentation is done.
